Kavya (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist and UNESCO Educator.
She strives to provide a holistic approach to working with clients, incorporating elements of the mind-body- and spirit. Kavya thinks of the mind-body as two sides of the same coin, and our spirit, as the inscriptions on that coin. If we work with one element, it leads to a domino effect and transforms the other elements as well.
Kavya is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy, and she has an interest in incorporating psychodynamic elements into her sessions.
Kavya also works with UNESCO MGIEP as a Master Trainer for Social and Emotional Learning Courses for Schools, using a framework of empathy, mindfulness, compassion, and instilling critical inquiry among people.

I believe that therapy should be a safe place for a client to be able to share their feelings and behaviours. My approach to psychotherapy is one of compassion, understanding and empathy in a nonjudgmental manner. I believe that we can work together in a cooperative therapeutic relationship. Life brings many ups and downs and we can work together to help navigate these challenging situations.
Most of my experience has been in an academic setting, through Yorkville University. I also have received a Certificate of Criminal Behaviour and Psychology from Georgian College. I also have a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Toronto Metropolitan University.
